Important Note: These prices are estimates. We communicate with you if an item you drop off is going to exceed our ranges here, but it is up to you when you submit your Drop Box Form to indicate whether or not you want a quote before we start work :)

Rip N’ Stitch Repair Menu

  • By far this is the bulk of what makes R+S run and stay stoked. We have a lot of info on this page regarding what we do and how much it may cost you. Take a look!

  • At Rip N’ Stitch, we do alterations that do not require fittings. This means we accept items that you drop off with information like “take these pants in 2 inches in the waist” or “hem these sleeves 7 inches”. If you need tailoring services, a fitting, or are unsure, please email us and we can help find the right fit.

  • If you choose repair with us, you will fill out our Drop Box Form to specify if you want the repair to feature a cool color, patch, or design. However, it is not uncommon for folks to want customizations on items that don’t require repair… and we are all ears! Examples include sewing trim along a hem or putting one of our Rip N’ Stitch woven labels on a favorite piece. Customizations range from $15 - sky high.

  • The more people sewing, the merrier. Some of our favorite memories come from expanding our circle and getting our community involved in the art of sewing. We offer private instruction and scheduled classes through the Wonder Institute. Head to their website to learn more!

THE CLASSICS: not your mother’s seamstress

As we mentioned above, we don’t accept alterations that require fittings. However, super common repairs for us are hemming, taking seams in or out, and completing various other adjustments like replacing elastic and button work. If you think you have an alteration that does not require a fitting, use our Drop Box form to get started and make sure to include specifics.

TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL MISSION

Bring us your pants before they wear completely through. Repairs can be stronger when preventative.

In your Drop Box Form, be specific about what you want repaired. Sometimes you want that distressed look… and it can save you money.

Sometimes a pair of pants is too far gone to be repaired. We will let you know if this is the case, and you can choose to get them back or donate them for scrap material.

BACKPACK + BAG REPAIR

This is important to us. We want to see large items like camping packs, luggage, and other bags last your whole life. We have some pretty sweet machines that help us with repairs like this, so if you need a repair but think it impossible, get in touch!

WATERPROOF HEALING ARTS

Gore-tex and other 2-3 ply water proof and water resistant fabrics can require special seam sealing for a truly effective repair. At Rip N’ Stitch, we assess every repair and decide if it is possible and best to complete seam sealing, and charge accordingly.

SPECIALTY + MISC REPAIRS
